I Tore It Down To Build It Back Up

A time to tear down and a time to build up. Ecclesiastes 3:3

If you would have told me a year ago, I would be redesigning and relaunching this website, I would have laughed in your face. Please! I had spent almost $2,000 getting my first website built and countless hours working with my former web designer on design layout details and written content for each of the pages. So getting a new website built? Yeah, totally not in my plans. But I have learned, “Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails” (Proverbs 19:21).

Now let me tell you about the first design of website. It was beautiful. Truly it was, but the design layout was not my vision. Let me correct that last statement. It was not the vision God gave me for the She Writes It Ministry website. It was the vision of my former web designer. Because I didn’t have the courage to ask for what I really wanted, I settled for whatever she said was best. Even when I knew in my heart and spirit it was not the look God had placed in my mind. After two months of going back and forth with her on design layout details, I approved the final design of the site and I launched www.shewritesit.com on December 17, 2016. On that day She Writes It Ministry was born!

I shared the site with everyone I knew! I was so proud of the site and everyone who saw it told me how beautiful it was. Shortly after that, people begin to subscribe and I was elated! Finally, things were coming along for me! For over a year, I religiously wrote two blog posts a week, Monday Mana and ThursdayTherapy. Weekly, I shared my Holy Spirit inspired blog posts with people around the world. As God spoke, I wrote! During the course of the year, I received several testimonies from people on how my blog posts helped them. To God Be The Glory! In my mind, my ministry was booming! Until things begin slowly unravel at the end of last year.

By the end of last year, I knew that I had to muster up the courage to end my business relationship with my former web designer. Let’s just say the first thing that began to unravel was my patience with her. It was past time for that relationship to end, but fear kicked in. Ending my relationship with her meant the very thing I dreaded-rebuilding my website from scratch. The thought of having to temporarily close my website down and spend more money and time on getting a new website created was just not something I wanted to do. Yet, I knew I had to. I had to close down my old website to rebuild the She Writes It Ministry website the right way-with the vision God originally gave me!

Okay let’s jump to February 2018. Yup, last month. Again, I heard the nagging of the Holy Spirit in my ear to end the relationship with my old web designer. That is what my spirit heard, but my flesh heard this, “Amber, hire a new web designer, close your website down, and pay the new web designer to create a brand new website for you.” Yeah, I wasn't trying to hear that! So what did God have to do to make MOVE?! He allowed my former web designer to make me so frustrated with her that I fired her. Yes, she hit that last nerve and before I knew it on a Sunday evening I was writing a professional end contract letter. The very next morning I emailed it to her and within two days my old website was gone and I had a new web designer hired and a new website created within a week. Oh yes, God accelerated the time and He gave me favor with the pricing! Hallelujah!!! But that wasn’t the icing on the cake for me.

The icing on the cake for me was that she understood my vision! Not only did she understand it, but she made sure every element of the design reflected it. And the cherry on top is she is a woman of God with her own ministry. That factor alone was the most important to me because she could relate to my vision. Lesson Moment: Never enter a business partnership with someone that doesn't understand your vision. My new web/graphic designer understands my vision and she values me as a customer. So shout out to Morgan Tracy J! Check out her website/ministry https://www.hisdaughterscloset.com.

Today God wanted me to share my story with you so you can get the courage to tear down somethings in your life that need to be rebuilt. This is the season to tear down relationships, businesses, projects, and even ministries that weren't started with or built on godly morals, principles, and foundations. Some of you reading this post right now know exactly what you to tear down or temporarily end. Yes, it's going to be hard. Yes, it may even hurt. But I pray that God gives you the strength and courage to do what you know needs to be done. That relationship, it ain't' working. Truth be to told, it was started in sin (fornication/adultery). Your business keeps failing because it's wasn't the business idea/vision God gave you. Not every good idea is a God idea. Yes, you were supposed to start a ministry, but you jumped ahead of God's timing. Remember, there is a time and season for everything.

What's not built on the solid rock (Christ) will not stand. In this season it's time to tear somethings down God can build them back up the RIGHT WAY. This website that you are looking at right now had to be tore down. It had be redesigned and rewritten. This time it reflects God's originally vision in every aspect from the design layouts to the written content. She Writes It is more than a pretty website it is a ministry. A ministry that encourages, equips, and empowers people in their daily walk with Christ through weekly blog posts and free spiritual resources and tools. On this site, I pray you feel the love of Christ. I hope that you know at anytime you can drop me a prayer request and I will pray for you. I am just a godly vessel that writes as God speaks. So learn from me. Tear down what needs to be rebuilt. This is the season and the time to do it and start it the RIGHT WAY!
