Deitrick Haddon-Reveal My Heart

The lyrics to the that song were lyrics to my life in 2012. From battling numerous sicknesses to going though my worst heartbreak, I really needed a friend-someone I could pour my heart out to. Unfortunately, the people I considered my friends at that time were not there for me. Not that they didn't want to be, but because God didn't allow them to be. Everybody I normally depended on for comfort and guidance during that time turned their back on me. God allowed them to be so consumed with their own problem and issues they didn't have time for me. Naturally, I felt they were rejecting me, but know I it was God setting me apart. He isolated me for a season so He could heal me. I was broken and I needed the Potter to put me back together again.

When I reflect back on that season in my life, I call it "My Private Sessions With God" season. For six months, I spend quality time with God every day. I prayed to Him. I poured out my heart to Him. I praised and worshiped Him. I read and meditated on His Word. I wrote to Him. I soaked myself in His presence everyday until I was healed. I revealed my heart to God and He revealed His heart back to me. It was during our private sessions that He put me back together again. Today, I ask you do you need a private session?

While I am an advocate for seeking professional counseling and therapy, the greatest spiritual healer, counselor, or therapist you could ever talk to is God. Because as much as I like Iyanla Vanzant, the only person that can truly fix your life is God. If you are broken, need healing, in a season of isolation, grieving, or just lonely make an appointment with Jehovah Rapha (The God Who Heals). You don't have to suffer in silence. People may have walked away from you. They may have rejected you. But know that there is someone in your life that you can ALWAYS depend on. Some who will never leave or forsake you and that is your Father, God. He loves you and He wants you to come to Him.
