#PrayTheWord: Pray...Repent...Renew

Today starts off my four weeks of Praying The Word series! For the rest of this month I will be sharing Holy Spirit inspired prayers that incorporate the Word of God. This week I am sharing a prayer of repentance.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being such a loving Father. You are good and Your mercy endures forever. Even If I had a ten thousand tongues, I couldn’t praise You enough! I will bless Your name at all times.

Now Father I come to You today because You said in Your Word that no sinner will inherit the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Against You, You only, have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight (Psalm 51:4). Therefore, I acknowledge my sins of ___________ to You and I do not cover up my iniquities (Psalm 32:5). Because I have confessed my transgressions to You, I now can obtain mercy (Provers 28:13). Lord I thank You for being faithful and just and forgiving me of my sins and cleansing me from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). As far as the east is from the west is how far You have removed my sins from me (Psalm 103:12).

Thank You Lord for being compassionate and merciful. I am beyond grateful that you do harbor Your anger towards me forever or treat me as my sins deserve (Psalm 103:9-10). To help me stay on the straight and narrow path I ask that You create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within in me. (Psalm 51:10). Purify me in the Blood of Jesus and cleanse me from all my filthiness. Help me Lord to walk in righteousness and holiness everyday. Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever (Matthew 6:13).

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
