Praying From A Posture Of Faith

Updated: Jan 10, 2020

My prayer life is changing. No more simple, "Lord, help me" prayers.

My prayer language has changed. I am finally learning how to pray like Jesus. How do you pray like Jesus you ask? I am glad you asked or thought it! To pray like Jesus is to pray from a posture of faith or to pray with a belief that God will answer your prayer.

The Word tells us 1 John 5:14-15:

This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us. And if we know [for a fact, as indeed we do] that He hears and listens to us in whatever we ask, we [also] know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted to us] the requests which we have asked from Him.

In other words, if you prayer is in alignment with God's Word and will for your life, you can expect God to answer that pray and grant you your request. That's why Jesus tell us, "Whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you" (Mark 11:24).

Are you praying from this posture or are you praying from a place of doubt and unbelief. I use to pray from a posture of doubt. I really didn't believe God would answer my prayers. I knew He had the power to, but I didn't think He would for me because my faith was low and sometimes non-exist. But what an oxymoron. To be Christian that doesn't live or pray by faith is to be a Christian that displeases. According to Apostle Pual, without faith living inside of us it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).

We should always be striving to please God and we do this by living, speaking, and praying in faith. Faith comes by repetitively hearing the Word of God. When we know the Word of God and the Word is rooted in our hearts, we can pray from a posture of faith. Prayers prayed in faith always get answered. It's time for you to pray in faith.

You can't pray in faith if you don't walk, live, and speak in faith every day. Praying from a posture faith comes naturally to you when faith is deeply rooted in your heart. Need to increase your faith? Read, study, meditate and declare the Word of God daily. That's how you build your faith. When you know God's Word, it's easy to pray in faith because you know God watches over His Word to perform it.

Instead of me writing a prayer for you this week, I want you to write out a prayer. You can write the prayer in a notebook or speak it out loud ( I recommend both). The prayer has to include the Word of God in it and must be written and said in faith! I want you to start praying prayers in alignment with God's Word and will for you life because of those of the type of prayers that get answered!

What are you believing God for? Find scriptures to support it, and believe that God is a not a man that He should lie neither the son of man that he should repent, if you believe in faith He will do, He will do it! Take that prayer to the #ThroneRoom!
