Because of Thanksgiving my flesh is high! Many of us have been practicing the sin of gluttony over the last few days, which has strengthened our flesh! If you are like me, you have eaten so much that all you can is lay down and go to sleep. You literally have zero energy to do anything else. Especially the things like praying, studying, and meditating on God’s Word, and giving God the praise and glory due to His name. All I have been doing these last three days is sleeping! So, my flesh is super strong right now, but my spirit man, unfortunately, is weak.
Well thank God, I know how to strengthen it. So how do you strengthen your inner man? Glad you thought the question in your mind! I am here to answer it. The Word tells us in Jude 1:20, “ But you, dear friends, must build up your lives ever more strongly upon the foundation of our holy faith, learning to pray in the power and strength of the Holy Spirit.” As a child of God, a born-again believer who has been baptized in the Holy Ghost, you have the power to speak in tongues. In fact, speaking in tongues is one of the signs that you are a believer in Christ. Jesus says in Mark 16:17, “And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues.” Speaking in tongues is the foundation to building up and strengthen your spirit man.
You know you should be praying daily. No need for me to reiterate that to you. Bud did you know you should be praying in the Holy Ghost daily? Praying in the Holy Ghost is how your strength your spirit man. The stronger your spirit man becomes the more you will have the ability to walk in the spirit daily and not gratify the desires of the flesh. When we are constantly sinning and our lives are out of control, 10 times of ten, it is result of a weak inner man and low or nonexistent of prayer life. The Word of God makes it clear to us that we should be praying in the power of the Holy Ghost on a regular basis. Not sometimes, but all the time.
How often do you pray in the Holy Spirit? Have you ever prayed in the Holy Spirit? Transparently, I do, but not as often as I should. I have to do better. If you have never prayed in tongues. Ask the Holy Spirit to baptize with the fire of tongues. I promise you, if you ask in faith, He will do it. As believers in Christ, we should be praying in the Holy Spirit all the time, building up our inner man.
Why pray in the Holy Ghost? The Holy Ghost speaks the language of heaven on our behalf. On those days when we don't know what to pray, the Holy Spirit prays for and through us. He always knows that to say. Apostle Paul said in Romans 8:26-27, "the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings,yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us, his holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny.
I could add on to this, but I think the Word speaks for itself. Don't know what to pray? Pray in the Holy Spirit! Strengthen your inner man!
